Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 35th Anniversary

35 years ago, and about 3 years after Star Trek: The Motion Picture.  Start Trek II: The Wrath of Khan will be going back to U.S. theaters to mark it's 35th anniversary.  It will feature a special introduction from William Shatner and it will be a director's cut.  Yes!

This is actually my favorite Star Trek movie which stars the original cast of the original TV series.  William Shatner; Leonard Nimoy and Deforest Kelly brings up the main cast with Nichelle Nichols; George Takei; Walter Koenig and James Doohan.  with Paul Winfield as Captain Clark Terrell

This is also the first time that the maroon uniforms with black pants and colored turtle necks made it debut.  A big step since the uniform in ST:TMP look like glorified pajamas.

Apart from a great cast, it also features a villain that can give the Klingons a run for tier money-Khan Noonien Singh.

Ricardo Montalban reprising his role from the Original Star Trek (ST:TOS) Space Seed (1967) gave a stellar performance as a man who is hell bent on taking his revenge on Captain Kirk and crew after Ceti Alpha V the planet that he was exiled on including his fellow supermen became a barren place.  Khan plans to avenge the death of his wife, and he has been waiting for the right time to take his revenge.

For me this is one of the best Star Trek films.  It has Trekker fave written all over it.  Although as every fan knows that all even numbered Trek movie that involves the original cast is very good compared to their odd numbered brothers.

This is the movie that started it all and I believed introduced Star Trek to a new generation.

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (Director's cut) returns to selected theaters September 10 and 13.  Book you tickets fellow Trekkers!
